FD teen pleads not guilty to attempted murder, other charges

Isiah Mosley

A Fort Dodge teen has pleaded not guilty to charges stemming from a shooting incident that occurred in August 2019.

Isiah Christopher Mosley, 17, entered his written plea of not guilty prior to his scheduled arraignment hearing on Monday.

Mosley is charged with attempt to commit murder, a Class B felony; intimidation with a dangerous weapon with the intent to injure or provoke fear, a Class C felony; possession of a firearm by a prohibited person, a Class D felony; going armed with intent, a Class D felony; reckless use of a firearm resulting in property damage, an aggravated misdemeanor; and carrying weapons, an aggravated misdemeanor. He is being charged as an adult.

According to the Fort Dodge Police Department, sometime in the overnight hours of Aug. 7, 2019, to Aug. 8, 2019, a residence on the 1200 block of 10th Avenue Southwest was shot with gunfire. On the morning of Aug. 8, officers located “several bullet holes in the exterior of the house” and “several bullet holes in a white Lincoln LS vehicle parked nearby,” according to the criminal complaint.

Police reported that a witness said the shooter looked like “Man Man,” an alias used by Mosley. The witness also said the shooter had bandages on both legs and that Mosley had recently been struck in both legs by gunfire from a separate incident.

According to the criminal complaint, Mosley “traveled along a public sidewalk while firing a pistol at a residence occupied by multiple adults and children.”

No injuries were reported from the incident.

Mosley had been previously adjudicated of attempted murder charges in January 2017 for a crime that happened in November 2016, when he shot his uncle after what court documents say was a fight over “half a blunt,” a hollowed out cigar filled with marijuana.

The teen was adjudicated in juvenile court and was placed in the detention of the State School for Boys in Eldora from January 2017 to April 2019.

The trial date for these charges has not yet been set. Mosley remains in custody at the Webster County Jail.
