An inmate at the Fort Dodge Correctional Facility has tested positive for COVID-19, the Iowa Department of Corrections announced on Wednesday afternoon.

The inmate is an adult male between the ages of 18 and 40. He has been in medical isolation since he told prison staff he was not feeling well on Tuesday.

The FDCF has also placed the unit that the inmate was originally residing in into a quarantine status and additional testing is underway, the IDC said.
