Walter wins Democratic primary for sheriff

Sgt. Tony Walter has won the Democratic primary for Webster County Sheriff with 50.91% of the vote (1,337 votes.) Opponent Deputy Trevir Michehl earned 48.17% of the electorate (1,265 votes.)
Walter will face off with Sgt. Luke Fleener, who ran on the Republican ticket tonight unopposed.
Walter has been with the Webster County Sheriff’s Office since 2004.
