One injury reported in crash

A Ford Escape driven by Lacey Nelson, 40, of Fort Dodge, came to rest against a tree along Seventh Avenue North after being involved in crash with a pickup truck Tuesday. Nelson was driving westbound when she allegedly hit the back of a stopped pickup truck that was stopped at a red light. Nelson was cited for failure to stop in a clear and assured distance, according to Lt. Dennis Mernka, of the Fort Dodge Police Department. The Fort Dodge Fire Department was also on scene.

Firefighters and paramedics with the Fort Dodge Fire Department assist Lawrence Breiner, 61, of Fort Dodge, onto a stretcher after being involved in a crash on Seventh Avenue North Tuesday. According to Lt. Dennis Mernka, of the Fort Dodge Police Department, Breiner’s vehicle, a Ford pickup truck, was facing west and stopped at a stop light before it was hit from behind by another vehicle. The force of the crash sent Breiner’s truck across four lanes of traffic on North 15th Street. Breiner was transported the the UnityPoint Health — Trinity Regional Medical Center emergency room. His injuries appeared to be non-life-threatening.
