Fort Dodge firefighters and paramedics load Dustin Handy, of Fort Dodge, into an ambulance Monday evening following a crash on North 15th Street. Fort Dodge police Sgt. Paul Samuelson said Emily Appel, of Fort Dodge, was driving a Ford sedan southbound on North 15th Street and when she slowed for turning traffic, Handy’s southbound motorcycle struck the rear of her car. Handy was taken to UnityPoint Health — Trinity Regional Medical Center. Appel was not injured. The crash occurred at about 6:50 p.m. The Fort Dodge police and fire departments and the Iowa State Patrol responded.
