Ja-Mar to remain closed until May 20

Two more employees test positive for COVID-19

Ja-Mar Drive-In Restaurant will remain closed until May 20 because two more employees tested positive for COVID-19, owner Jerry Jordison reported.

He closed the restaurant on Thursday and said it would remain closed until Monday after one employee tested positive.

Then on Friday he extended the closure, saying it was the only way to deal with the situation.

The initial employee who tested positive has become so ill that she was placed in a hospital intensive care unit, he said.

That employee last worked at the restaurant on May 1. She tested positive for COVID-19 after learning that a relative she had been in contact with was hospitalized because of the disease.

An additional 15 Ja-Mar employees were tested after that initial positive result was reported. Two of them tested positive.
