Calhoun County sheriff resigns
Calhoun County Sheriff Scott Anderson resigned Monday morning, over two weeks after he was arrested for the alleged assault of his wife and two police officers.
Calhoun County Supervisors met in an emergency session Monday morning with Calhoun County Attorney Tina Meth-Farrington to accept the resignation.
Anderson’s resignation came just hours before a court hearing was scheduled to commence to further evaluate Meth-Farrington’s petition for removal.
In addition to criminal charges, the former sheriff faces allegations of sexual harassment over the course of years from a dispatcher and civil clerk he worked with.
Former Deputy Jeff Feldhans is now the acting sheriff, per a previous court order.
