Humboldt names new superintendent

Murray to begin duties on July 1

HUMBOLDT — The Humboldt Community School District announced its next superintendent following a special school board meeting on Monday night.

Jim Murray will begin his duties as superintendent on July 1, 2020.

“Jim’s authenticity, educational experience, community mindedness and his preparation really made him an excellent choice,” said Humboldt School Board President Tate Satern in a release on Monday night.

There were 21 full applications and four finalists for the position.

“The board would like to express our sincere appreciation to Mr. Jeff Herzberg for his extraordinary service of organizing and administering this process for our district,” Satern said. “We would also like to extend our deepest gratitude to the many individuals, including the Twin Rivers Board of Education, that were part of the selection process. The input from the five interview committees was helpful and provided excellent insight to the strengths and best fit of the finalists.”
