I currently work at Mertz Engineering as a welder. In addition, I assist with ICCC Computer Integrated Fabrication community outreach programs. We do a variety of activities which include helping participants create projects like tools, parts and games.
What is your favorite class and why?
Advanced Lathe is my favorite because it’s fun to take raw materials and use them to create everyday products. For example, we have made a spring loaded tap guide, two piece brass hammer, and parts for a Kant twist clamp.

Blazing Saddles
What advice would you give a senior in high school?
Find what makes you happy and work hard for it.
What has been your favorite moment at Iowa Central so far?
One moment, I will remember is completing my BURR Puzzle out of aluminum. I enjoyed watching my instructors and classmates trying to put it together perfectly.
Future plans?
My goal is to go on to University of Northern Iowa and pursue my Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering Technology and work at Mertz Engineering.
