FD man arrested for burglary, strangulation, sexual assault

A Fort Dodge man appeared in magistrate court Friday to answer to charges of burglary, domestic assault and sex abuse after Fort Dodge police say he broke into a home, strangled a woman and sexually assaulted her — three different acts on three separate dates.

Christopher Lamont Baker Jr., 25, is charged with second-degree burglary, third-degree sexual abuse and domestic abuse assault impeding air or blood flow. The charges stem from three incidents in November and December.

The first charge for burglary stems from a Nov. 15 incident in which Fort Dodge police say Baker kicked in the front door of the victim’s residence. The defendant had a no contact order for the victim issued Nov. 4.

Criminal complaints detail Baker’s subsequent acts as an escalation from that one.

On Nov. 25, complaints say that Baker grabbed the victim’s feet, pulled her off her bed and dragged her to the living room of the home. Police say he then got on top of the victim and started to choke her with both hands.

On Dec. 12, police say Baker sexually assaulted the same victim, against her constant verbal objections.

Baker is held in the Webster County Jail on a collective $25,000 cash bond. An arraignment is scheduled for Feb. 24.
