3 departments respond to shop fire near Barnum

Volunteer firefighters from Barnum, Clare and Moorland battle flames and smoke after a shop, located at 2119 Fairbanks Ave., was engulfed with fire Saturday night. No injuries were reported. Owner Kyle Dornath said he had two vehicles, a motorcycle and tools in the shop. He said he was painting a bench in the shop before going inside to fold laundry. When he came back out 10 minutes later the shop was fully engulfed, he said. The fire was reported at 10 p.m. Webster County sheriff’s deputies were also on scene.
