WEST DES MOINES – UnityPoint Health will not merge with Sanford Health after the two organizations announced over the summer their intentions to form one company.

UnityPoint, the Des Moines-based health care organization which operates UnityPoint Health – Trinity Regional Medical Center in Fort Dodge, said in a written statement that “after serious consideration, we will not be moving forward with a formal partnership. We have great respect for Sanford Health and the relationship we’ve developed. UnityPoint Health remains strong, focused on delivering exceptional patient care and is competitively positioned for the future.”
