BODE — One man died as a result of a single vehicle crash on a rural Humboldt County road Friday.

The Humboldt County Sheriff’s Department identfied the man as Joel Haynes, 45, of Bode.

Deputies reported that Haynes was driving east on 120th Street when he lost control of his vehicle. The vehicle went off the road and hit several trees near 1991 120th St. The crash happened at 11:27 p.m.

Haynes was ejected from the vehicle, according to the Sheriff’s Department. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Bode firefighters and first responders, the Humboldt County Memorial Hospital Emergency Medical Service and the Humboldt County medical examiner responded, along with sheriff’s deputies.
