BURT — The man who was killed in a single-vehicle crash east of Burt Friday morning has been identified, the Kossuth County Sheriff’s Office reported on Saturday.

Steven Michael Schindler, 57, of Algona, was found unresponsive in the 2900 block of 150th Avenue.

The crash was reported at 6:36 a.m.

Schindler was transported from the scene by Algona Ambulance to Kossuth Regional Health Center.

He was pronounced dead at the hospital, the Kossuth County Sheriff’s Office reported.

An autopsy is being performed to determine cause of death.

The Burt Ambulance along with Burt firefighters, the Algona Ambulance, and Kossuth County sheriff’s deputies, responded to the crash.
