The candidates are Councilman Neven Conrad, who is seeking a second term; Eugene Newsome; and Jim Underwood.
Conrad is an attorney, Newsome is retired and Underwood is the assistant manager of Hy-Vee Wine & Spirits.
The top two vote-getters will advance to the Nov. 5 general election.
There are three at-large seats on the seven-member council, but only one of them will be filled in this year’s election. At-large members of the council serve four-year terms.
The polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
