Goldfield man charged with kidnapping FD woman

Terry arrested, also charged with assault

A Goldfield man faces a kidnapping charge and two assault charges after Fort Dodge police say he forced a woman into a car, assaulted her and drove her over a state line.

Justice Terry, 25, was arrested and charged on Saturday with second-degree kidnapping, a Class B felony; assault while participating in a felony, a Class D felony; and assault with a firearm, an aggravated misdemeanor. He remains in the Webster County Jail on a collective $32,000 cash-only bond.

Criminal complaints allege that twice between Sept. 26 and Sept. 30, Terry forced a Fort Dodge woman into his vehicle.

The complaints go on to allege that he initially drove to a location on the east side of Fort Dodge, where he choked her and pistol whipped her with his handgun before driving the victim to Minneapolis, Minnesota.

The narrative states the victim was able to escape in Minneapolis, where she called her mother to pick her up.

Police say that the following day, Terry intimidated the victim into getting into a vehicle again, in which they wandered around north central Iowa before stopping in the Mason City area. There, the victim called her mother again.

Complaints say it was the victim’s mother that called law enforcement in Wright County at that time.

Terry was arrested for active arrest warrants at a subsequent traffic stop on Saturday in Clarion, allegedly attempting to flee law enforcement during the arrest.

Law enforcement officers found a handgun during a search of the vehicle.
