Eagle Grove woman injured in crash

HARLAN — Three people, including an Eagle Grove woman, were injured after two vehicles collided at the intersection of Shelby County Road F58 and Maple Road in Harlan Tuesday afternoon, according to Iowa State Patrol crash reports.

The crash was reported at 12:52 p.m.

Matthew Strong, 24, of Harlan, was driving northbound on Maple Road.

Raechel Spangler, 21, of Eagle Grove, was driving eastbound on F58.

According to the Iowa State Patrol, Strong failed to yield at the stop sign and entered the intersection.

And when Spangler approached the Maple Road intersection, her vehicle hit the driver’s side of Strong’s vehicle.

Both vehicles ended up on the northeast side of the intersection.

Strong was transported with injuries to the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha. He was not wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash, troopers reported.

Rose Strong, 22, of Harlan, was a passenger in that vehicle. She was also transported to the University of Nebraska Medical Center.

Spangler was transported to Myrtue Medical Center in Harlan. She was wearing her seat belt, troopers reported.

The Iowa State Patrol, Shelby County Sheriff’s Office, Iowa Department of Transportation Enforcement, Walnut Rescue and Harlan Fire Department, responded.
