Fort Dodge Public Works Department crews prepare to repair a water main along North Seventh Street by the entrance to Loomis Park Tuesday afternoon. The rocks in the driveway were washed there by the torrent of leaking water. According to Brett Daniel, the city’s Public Works director, a 6-inch-diameter water main broke. He said homes along North Seventh Street, Miller Drive and 28th Avenue North lost water service due to the break. Crews worked most of the day to repair the leak. Daniel said he did not know what caused the breakage.
