WEBSTER CITY — The North Central Iowa Bridal Event presented by The Messenger and The Daily Freeman-Journal welcomed scores of area brides to the Briggs Woods Conference Center on Sunday afternoon.

Around 40 local vendors, including photographers, venues, caterers, DJ services and dress boutiques, were on hand for the 11th annual event.

Gemini Levongkhom, of Webster City, decided to stop by the bridal show after learning about it the night before.

“We just found out about it last night and I want to get inspiration,” Levongkhom said.

She said she’s planning on a summer 2020 wedding and this bridal event has helped her with that inspiration she needs for her wedding.

“It’s giving me ideas of what I want to do,” she said. “I’m trying to get a feel of what I want.”

Levongkhom stopped by the booth for Backcountry Winery, of Stratford, and said she really liked it.

“That one was very pretty, and I’m trying to lean toward an intimate wedding and I think they would fit.”

Another Webster City bride, Cara McNiel, will be tying the knot on May 2, 2020.

“I’ve never been to a bridal show and I thought it would be fun to get some new ideas,” she said.

While she has many of her vendors set already, she said the event was good for helping her pick the remaining vendors she will need for the big day.

“I noticed some of the table settings and stuff and it gives you an idea of how you can have things arranged for the rehearsal dinner or reception,” she said.

Both brides were happy to have this bridal event right in their back yard.

“I just think it’s nice that there’s something like this so close,” McNiel said.

“Anybody who is getting married should come here to these events,” Levongkhom said. “These are perfect.
