Sheriff’s deputy involved in crash

Fort Dodge Fire Department paramedics tend to the injured victim of a Friday afternoon collision at 170th Street and Madison Avenue. According to Iowa State Patrol Trooper Brenda Rinard, the driver had stopped at 170th then pulled out in front of a Webster County Sheriff’s Department squad car driven by Deputy Corey Wood. Rinard said Wood, who was not injured, was responding to an accident west of Fort Dodge. The injured woman was transported to UnityPoint Health — Trinity Regional Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries, Rinard said. The Iowa State Patrol will continue its investigation of the Friday afternoon accident. Badger volunteer firefighters also responded.
