Rescue workers remove Janet Schott, 73, of Humboldt, from her vehicle Thursday afternoon after an accident on U.S. Highway 169 about one half mile south of 140th Street. According to Webster County Sheriff’s Deputy April Murray, preliminary indications were that Schott, who was traveling north, had crossed the center line and then struck a pickup being driven north by Dean Grossnickle, 47, of Gilbert, before coming to rest in the ditch. Schott was taken to UnityPoint Health — Trinity Regional Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries. Grossnickle was not injured. Clare Rescue, Badger Fire and the Webster County Sheriff’s responded. The accident remains under investigation.
