YELL TOWNSHIP– One man died at the scene of a single-vehicle crash in rural Webster County near the intersection of 330th Street and Xavier Avenue early Wednesday morning.

Ryan Carlson, 32, of Boone, was found dead in his 2006 Ford F-150 pick-up. The crash was reported at 7:10 a.m.

The Iowa State Patrol reported the truck was travelling east on 330th Street and failed to negotiate a curve near Xavier Avenue in Yell Township, north of Stratford.

The vehicle crossed the center line, going through a cable barrier and travelling down an enbankment. The vehicle hit multiple trees before coming to a stop against one.

The man was not wearing a seatbelt.

Stratford Fire/EMS, the Webster County Sheriff’s Office and Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office, Dayton Police Department and Iowa State Patrol assisted in the investigation.
