Three hurt in crash at uncontrolled intersection

WOOLSTOCK — Three people were hurt when two vehicles collided at an uncontrolled intersection Wednesday afternoon, according to Iowa State Patrol crash reports.

The crash was reported at 3:05 p.m.

Tiffany Negless, 27, of Clarion, was driving her car southbound on Keokuk Avenue.

Kayne Carlson, 18, of Eagle Grove, was driving his car eastbound on 290th Street.

The two vehicles collided when they reached the uncontrolled intersection where 290th Street and Keokuk Avenue meet in Wright County.

Both vehicles ended up in the southeast ditch.

Negless was transported by ambulance to Iowa Specialty Hospital in Clarion. Troopers said her life was saved by wearing a seatbelt.

Carlson, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was transported to Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines. His condition was unknown as of press time Thursday night.

Lattrell Word, 20, of Eagle Grove, was a passenger in Carlson’s vehicle. Word was also injured, but the extent of his injuries were not known Thursday.

The crash remains under investigation by the Iowa State Patrol.
