St. Edmond employee resigns
Improper conduct is alleged
An employee of St. Edmond Catholic School has abruptly resigned in the wake of an allegation of inappropriate conduct, according to the school’s leader.
School President Mary Gibb did not name the employee on Friday.
Capt. Ryan Gruenberg, of the Fort Dodge Police Department, said police are aware of allegations against the employee and are investigating.
In a message sent to parents of St. Edmond students, Gibb wrote that this week authorities received an allegation of inappropriate conduct by a school employee. She said that information was provided to school administrators and the employee was immediately placed on leave.
”The employee has now resigned, effective immediately,” Gibb wrote.
”It is our understanding that the investigation is ongoing and may not be resolved for some time,” she added. ”Matters of personnel like this are treated confidentially to protect the privacy of those involved and out of respect for the investigative process.”
