Plumbing work continues on the former Blockbuster building Wednesday afternoon. Davita Healthcare Partners will be moving into the building when the renovation work is complete.

The former Blockbuster building, 117 S. 25th St., will soon be home to a dialysis center under the name Davita Healthcare Partners, according to city permits and contractor information.

That building, owned by TKG Holdings LLC, is undergoing a full remodel to accommodate the needs of the center.

Munro Construction, of Johnston, is the general contractor for the project.

On the north side of the building, work is ongoing to install a new water line, according to Steve Frame, superintendent of Munro Construction.

“Right now we are doing some demolition for plumbing in the floor,” Frame said. “They are bringing in a new water line for the building and sprinkler system. A new line for sprinkler system and general purpose water.”
