Law enforcement officers spent part of Sunday searching an area northeast of Fort Dodge for a man suspected of driving a stolen pickup truck.

Webster County Sheriff Jim Stubbs said the truck was involved in a crash at 170th Street and Samson Avenue Saturday. He said the driver ran into a cornfield and was not seen again.

Stubbs said deputies returned to the area at about 8:30 a.m. Sunday when a burglary alarm was activated. Because of the possibility that the alarm may have been set off by the man who was driving the stolen truck, a search was started.

The search was wrapping up at about 3 p.m.
