IDs released in Dayton accident

Winges in stable condition

DAYTON — The names of the people involved in a Sunday evening motorcycle and pickup truck accident in Dayton have been released.

Dayton Police Chief Nick Dunbar said Jimmy Winge and Geri Winge, both of Coalville, were riding a motorcycle on Third Street Northwest in Dayton when it collided with a pickup truck driven by Nathaniel Henricks, of Fort Dodge.

The accident happened Sunday shortly before 6 p.m.

Dunbar said Henricks was pulling out of the Casey’s General Store at 307 Third St. N.W. and started going north. That’s the same direction the Winges were traveling in on the motorcycle.

The two vehicles collided, causing the Winges to be ejected from the motorcycle.

Jimmy Winge was airlifted by the UnityPoint Life Flight air ambulance to an undisclosed Des Moines-area hospital, while Geri Winge was transported to UnityPoint Health — Trinity Regional Medical Center by ground ambulance.

Dunbar said both are stable and receiving care for their injuries.

Henricks was not hurt.

The Iowa State Patrol, Dayton Rescue Squad and Fort Dodge Fire Department also responded to the scene.
