FD school board OKs food service agreement

The Fort Dodge Community School District board approved a food service agreement with St. Paul Lutheran School at its meeting Monday night.

“This is an annual contract for our providers,” Brandon Hansel, FDCSD director of financial services, said. “Usually we have St. Paul and Community Christian (School). Community Christian has opted to self-perform for this year.”

The FDCSD will bill St. Paul for paid meals on a monthly basis. Student paid meals are $2.65. Reduced meals are 40 cents. Adult meals are $3.75.

“We treat this as a catering arrangement, which brings in a little revenue for our food service program,” Hansel said.

Taher, the food service company that serves the FDCSD, will supply an employee to prepare, serve, and track meals on a daily basis.

St. Paul will receive the same elementary monthly menu as the Fort Dodge community schools.
