Pothole causes Humboldt crash

HUMBOLDT — A pothole near the intersection of Fourth Avenue North and U.S. Highway 169 was a factor in a two-vehicle crash Wednesday morning, according to Humboldt Police Department reports.

The crash was reported at 8:29 a.m. after the driver of a Toyota Corolla hit a pothole as he drove past Fourth Avenue North, near the old Conoco gas station.

He was traveling northbound on U.S. Highway 169.

The hole reportedly caused the driver to lose control and swerve into the other lane, police said.

The vehicle was hit by a semi tractor-trailer that was also traveling northbound, according to the reports.

It was hit broadside and spun 180 degrees before coming to a stop and facing south.

No one was injured.

U.S. Highway 169 is four lanes through that part of the city.
