No one hurt in parking lot crash

A damaged flat-bed semi truck rests on property owned by Brown Supply Co., 3477 Fifth Ave. S., Monday morning. According to branch manager Paul Sanders, the truck drove through the Slumberland parking lot, over unpaved land and then drove through several stacks of pipes that Brown had sitting in the parking lot. The truck had apparently gotten into an accident, but it’s unclear if it was pushed off the road or was attempting to pull over. “Lucky the pipes stopped it because he could have gotten to the building,” Sanders said. Nobody was hurt, but the truck, belonging to Western Express, sustained damage, including a broken front axle. Sanders said he’s unsure of how much damage the pipes received, but several of them appeared to be completely broken. The Fort Dodge Police Department also responded to the scene.
