Council awards fuel, medical director contracts
A new committee has been created to examine the problems created by deer in the Fort Dodge city limits.
Mayor Matt Bemrich said Monday evening that the panel consists of representatives of Webster County Conservation and the Iowa Department of Natural Resources; Councilman Terry Moehnke; Dennis Plautz, the chief executive officer of the Greater Fort Dodge Growth Alliance and an avid hunter; and police Capt. Ryan Gruenberg.
Bemrich said the group should conduct some counts of the city’s deer population in early 2019.
Councilman Dave Flattery said he hit a deer with his vehicle in the city limits for the second time in five years over the weekend.
