Sevy Redel

4th Grade

Feelhaver Elementary

Who do you look up to, and who are your heroes or role models?

People I look up to are my big brother Josiah, my big sisters Gracie and Sophia, and my parents Scott and Joy. Also my hero is my grandpa Gary who fought in the Vietnam War and survived.

What inspires you to do the things you do that go above and beyond classwork?

My dream of working for NASA inspires me to work hard in school.

How do you see your leadership taking you into the future?

How I see my leadership taking me is achieving not just working for NASA but being in a mission to the moon.

What does leadership mean to you?

I think that leaders keep people safe, teach people wrong from right, leaders are disciplined and take responsibility for their own actions.

What are you working hardest on?

I am working hard on doing good in school so I can get into Harvard so I can work for NASA.

“I have selected Severin Redel from Feelhaver Elementary School as being a leader because he is a very honest and kind person. For example, today he was one of five students selected for a reward due to their excellent behavior in the classroom. As they were dismissed to enjoy the reward, Sevy stood outside of the classroom. He didn’t feel it was fair if he went outside for an extra recess. He thought he had been too talkative in class like his peers. This is just one example of Sevy’s empathic and kind-hearted personality. He is a wonderful role model for other students. This includes honoring our school rules in and outside of the school. Sevy enjoys school. This is evident as he enters our school each morning with a friendly smile and ‘hello’ as I greet him. I truly believe he deserves this recognition. I believe he displays the natural maturity and social skills to become a great leader some day.”
