Fort Dodge Police are investigating a report of shots fired Wednesday afternoon in Fort Dodge.

Officers were called to the area of 1105 Crawford Ave. around 3:30 p.m.

Multiple people were reportedly fleeing from the area. Apparently, no one was hurt.

Capt. Ryan Gruenberg said more information would be released today.

One officer reported finding multiple shell casings in the area of Crawford Park, just off 15th Street.

Officers at one point were standing outside what appeared to be an apartment on 15th Street, across the street from where B & L’s Too used to be located.

A group of about four people were sitting outside while a couple Fort Dodge police officers stood by them. Two officers came outside the residence with a man in handcuffs.

Another officer led the man into a patrol vehicle and drove off.

It’s not known if the man was charged with a crime or if he was simply being detained.

He was not identified.
