Employees of the Casey’s General Store located at 1230 Third Ave. N.W. look at the damage caused after a car crashed into the front doors Wednesday morning. Fort Dodge Police Sgt. Steve Hanson said Brian Elliott, 56, of Fort Dodge, was driving a 2015 Buick Enclave when he pulled into the parking lot of Casey’s. Hanson said Elliott told officers he believed he fell asleep at the wheel and drove his car through the front door. Nobody was hurt, but Hanson said both Elliott’s car and the store suffered damage. The store was open at the time of the crash. “Considering the circumstances, it was pretty fortunate” nobody was hurt, Hanson said.
