Premium deli-inspired sandwiches from Arby’s will soon be available to hungry customers in Fort Dodge.

DRM, Inc., an Arby’s franchisee headquartered in Omaha, Nebraska, is planning to open the restaurant at the corner of 29th Street and Fifth Avenue South, according to Abbey Ramsey, director of marketing for DRM, Inc.

“DRM is looking to expand in our existing territories and Fort Dodge came up as an area of opportunity for growth,” Ramsey said in a written statement. “We’ve been looking at Fort Dodge for several years and have been waiting for the right opportunity.”

That group intends to remodel the old Fazoli’s building into an Arby’s restaurant, pending approval from the city of Fort Dodge.

“In the newest Arby’s building design, “Inspire,” guests will enjoy a communal table with contemporary overhead lighting and multi-media charging outlets,” Ramsey said. “Other signature design details include white subway tile, multi-toned wood walls, chalkboard graphics and bright red chairs.”

The restaurant is anticipated to open later this year, but an exact date has not yet been revealed.

Between 40 and 50 people will be employed there, Ramsey said.

“We are excited for the opportunity to create new jobs in Fort Dodge and provide long-term career growth opportunities,” she said.

Signature Arby’s sandwiches include the smokehouse brisket, loaded Italian, and gyro. Other classic favorites like the roast beef, beef ‘n cheddar, Jamocha shake, and curly fries, will be on the menu.

“Our team is energized and ready to bring Fort Dodge their favorite freshly prepared menu items with our top notch red hat service,” Ramsey said.

A drive-through and catering service will be offered.

An Arby’s was once located in Fort Dodge under a different franchise owner.

DRM has operated Arby’s restaurants in the Iowa market since 1977. It is the second largest Arby’s franchisee. It has 78 restaurants in Nebraska, Iowa, Illinois, Minnesota, Missouri, and Wisconsin.

Fort Dodge will become the 23rd Arby’s in Iowa operated by DRM.

More than 3,200 Arby’s are located in the United States.

DRM is a family-owned and operated company. Matt Johnson and Marc Johnson, are president and CEO and president and COO, respectively, according to Ramsey.

“Matt and Marc literally grew up in fast food and brought with them the experience, talent and foresight to make DRM a very flexible and enjoyable place to work,” Ramsey said.

“We provide the atmosphere, flexibility and an opportunity for learning and growth, and feel this is what makes us the employer of choice for the right people,” Matt Johnson said in a written statement.

“The success of DRM is the collective effort of the entire dream team,” Marc Johnson added. “We strive to move forward with the belief that when better is achievable, then good is not good enough. We believe in what we can do, not what we can’t.”
