Students representing Fort Dodge Middle School were: Sixth-graders Grant Behrens, Colton Hale, Kyra Raymond and Karch Smith; seventh-graders Aaron Amhof, Katherine Berry, Grace Casciato, Kathryn Delaney, Ryan Madden, Amelia Rake, Grace Tolliver.

Eleven sixth- and seventh-grade students from Fort Dodge Middle School were selected for the 2018 Karl King Honor Band. The Honor Band performed Saturday at St. Edmond School. The students spent the day rehearsing with band students from other schools before presenting a concert that evening.

“Honor band participation gives the students an opportunity to play some challenging music, and the experience makes them better musicians,” said Tara Smith, FDMS band director. “When they share their learning from the honor band with their peers it makes the full band better too.”
