ROCKWELL CITY – A Pomeroy man is scheduled to stand trial in January for allegedly killing a North Dakota man last month.
Freddy Crisp, 48, is charged with first-degree murder in the shooting death of Dale Currie Potter, 41, of Devils Lake, North Dakota.
Crisp filed a written plea of not guilty Monday, and his trial was set for Jan. 12, 2016.
He is accused of shooting Potter on Nov. 10 at 205 Second St. in Pomeroy.
Early that morning, deputies with the Calhoun County sheriff’s office were called to that address after receiving a report of someone being shot.
Potter was found dead at the scene when deputies arrived.
Agents with the state Division of Criminal Investigation arrested Crisp eight days later.
Crisp is being held without bond at the Sac County Jail, because Calhoun County does not have a jail.
Pomeroy police assisted in the investigation.
