POMEROY – A man has been arrested in connection with a Nov. 10 shooting death in Pomeroy, officials announced Wednesday evening.

Freddy Crisp, 48, of Pomeroy, was arrested and charged with first degree murder, according to an announcement from Calhoun County Attorney Tina Meth Farrington.

He is accused of killing Dale Currie Potter, 41, of Devils Lake, North Dakota.

Crisp was arrested by Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation agents and was booked into the Sac County Jail. He is being held without bond, according to Meth Farrington.

Crisp was placed in the Sac County Jail because Calhoun County does not have a jail.

Potter was found at 2 a.m. Nov. 10 at 205 Second St. after law enforcement and emergency personnel were sent there in response to a report of a man being shot. Potter was found dead at the scene.

Pomeroy police and Calhoun County sheriff’s deputies assisted in the investigation.
