A valve malfunctioned in the utility department at CJ Bio America at approximately 10 a.m., causing a chemical release of hydrochloric acid. The region 5 hazardous materials response team is on the scene to repair the valve. “It should be repaired shortly,” said Jeff Booth, CJ Bio America human resources manager. There are no injuries.
