Rosedale Rapids aquatic center set to open for season in FD

The aquatic center in Fort Dodge will open Monday, according to an announcement from the Parks, Recreation and Forestry Department.

The center at 10th Avenue North and 32nd Street will be open from noon to 6 p.m. that day. Admission will cost $5 or swimmers can use a season pass.

From Tuesday through Friday of next week, the center will be open from 9 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. for adult fitness swimming and from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. for open swimming.

The adult fitness swimming includes walking in the channel called the lazy river and swimming laps. The time period is reserved for people age 16 and older.

The regular summer schedule will begin May 31.

Under the regular summer schedule, open swimming will be from noon to 5:15 p.m. and from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Mondays through Fridays.

Open swimming will be available from noon to 6 p.m. on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays.

Adult fitness swimming will be held from 9 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. and from 5:30 p.m. to 6:15 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

On Tuesdays and Thursdays, adult fitness swimming will be from 6 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. and from 5:30 p.m. to 6:15 p.m.

On Saturdays, adult fitness swimming will be from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
