LAKE CITY -- Stewart Memorial Hospital and Clinics is proud to recognize Casey Wetter as a Culture Champion Award recipient for her dedication, teamwork and continued commitment to supporting patients, coworkers and the community.

Wetter was nominated by Kelly Harms, who recognized her positive attitude, willingness to step up and the meaningful impact she makes throughout the organization.

Wetter's dedication to Stewart Memorial has been evident through several seasons of change and growth in her career. After serving as dietary services manager, she made the decision to pursue her dream of becoming a nurse. She returned to school full time, earning her LPN and RN degrees over two years while continuing to fulfill her dietitian responsibilities and support the Nutrition Services Department.

While balancing school and work, Wetter remained actively involved in department operations, working alongside the incoming dietary manager, helping with catering events and supporting hospital and Auxiliary fundraisers.

After earning her RN license, Wetter once again stepped into a leadership role when the Dietary Services Department needed additional support. Wanting to maintain the strength and connection of the team, she helped keep daily operations running smoothly while the department worked to fill its management position. She also picked up additional shifts, including weekends, to help support her coworkers and prevent burnout.

Her contributions extend well beyond the department. Wetter continues to coordinate catering activities, assist with hospital and Auxiliary fundraisers, support school fundraisers, oversee the Meals on Wheels program and help organize Stewart Memorial's annual Fun Run.

While continuing to pursue nursing opportunities and train in other departments, Wetter has also taken on additional responsibilities in her dietitian role. Through it all, she remains committed to making sure patients receive the support they need and her coworkers have the help they need to succeed.

"She is the most caring, empathetic and dedicated person I know. She would drop everything just to help someone else out," Harms wrote in her nomination. "I've never seen someone stay so strong, happy and dedicated through everything she does every day."
