The 2018 Fort Dodge Senior High School graduate is a full time mechanical contractor in Des Moines, where he puts a lot of effort and time into it.

Lara got exposure to being an owner with Swizzle, as part owner with Madison Thilges.

Swizzle is a drink shop that specializes in dirty sodas and after that things kept swirling in his mind for other opportunities.

“I got the exposure of being an owner through Swizzle,” Lara said. “Ideas had been marinating and stewing in me about what I could do.”

The ideas quickly turned into a reality as Lara opened a new business called 515 Surface Co. that is rooted in exterior cleaning.

“It has been in the works since February,” Lara said. “In the last couple of months or two, it has really picked up with messages to get some work done.”

“I never wanted to be an entrepreneur, but I have thought about it for the last two years after being a business owner — it opened my eyes and the opportunity came about.”

515 Surface Co. offers a variety of work that can be done.

“It’s been a little crazy, but it’s been fun and I need a little fun in my life,” Lara said. “I love being around people and I have had a lot of people who have been supportive and goal orientated.

“Weekends are not for lounging around anymore.”

The company will do patio and driveway cleaning, along with house, siding and gutters, removing dirt, grime, mold and stains to bring the outdoor surface back to life.

Lara will also take care of deck and fence staining and sealing to enhance the wood surfaces while protecting them from the elements.

515 Surface Co. also takes care of concrete with sealing and restoration to protect and restore it with professional sealing and resurfacing solutions that last.

Also available are garage epoxy floors. The floors are durable, easy to clean, and built to withstand heavy use. It’s available in a variety of colors and finishes.

“515 Surface Co is rooted in exterior cleaning, house washing, gutter cleaning and concrete restoration, along with window cleaning,” Lara said.
