Prairie Nouveau 2025

Soldier Creek Winery to unveil new red wine

Soldier Creek Winery will debut its Prairie Noveau 2025 wine on Nov. 22, adding a local flourish to a global tradition that celebrates the arrival of new vintage Beaujolais-style wines each November.

While France marks Beaujolais Nouveau Day on the third Thursday of the month, the Soldier Creek Winery release offers area wine lovers a weekend occasion to raise a glass to the end of harvest and the beginning of the holiday season.

“We are so thrilled to bring back Nouveau Fest for a second year,” said Megan Secor, marketing coordinator for Soldier Creek Winery. “Last year’s celebration was such a warm and inviting experience with our wine friends. We can’t wait to raise a glass to toast the end of the 2025 harvest season with friends new and old.”

The Prairie Nouveau is “a youthful, fruit-forward red crafted for immediate enjoyment.” According to Secor, the wine is bottled only weeks after the crush and is made with a carbonic-maceration approach that captures bright aromatics and a supple texture.

“The result is a fresh, vibrant pour meant more for convivial tables than cellars, perfectly aligned with the spirit of nouveau wines that historically celebrated the close of a hardworking harvest,” said Secor.

The annual release has become a fixture on Soldier Creek’s event calendar with local and area residents attending and learning about the international tradition.

“What began decades ago as a post-harvest toast grew into a worldwide phenomenon, and Soldier Creek brings that energy home with its own Iowa twist,” said Secor.

According to Secor, the new Prairie Noveau 2025 wine is a perfect pairing for turkey and traditional holiday dishes.
