UnityPoint Health — Trinity Regional Medical Center had an economic impact of $150.5 million in 2024, according to a newly released study.

The impact of UnityPoint Health — Fort Dodge goes beyond caring for patients, according to a recent study.

According to the study from the Iowa Hospital Association, UnityPoint Health — Fort Dodge supported 1,199 local jobs last year, adding $150.5 million to Webster County’s economy.

“Health care is about more than what happens inside the hospital walls,” said Leah Glasgo, president of UnityPoint Health — Fort Dodge. “We’re proud to provide high-quality care close to home, but we’re also proud to be part of the heartbeat of this community — creating jobs, supporting local families and growing opportunities right here in Fort Dodge.”

In 2024, UnityPoint Health – Fort Dodge gave $13.3 million in community benefits and reached 13,816 people through local programs and services designed to improve health and wellbeing.

“Our goal is to make a difference where it matters most — in the lives of the people we serve,” Glasgo said. “Whether it’s through preventive care, education, or partnerships with local organizations, we’re here to walk alongside our community and help it thrive.”

The Iowa Hospital Association’s statewide report shows that hospitals across Iowa provided $9.6 billion in wages and supported 141,708 jobs in 2024, with a total contribution of $22.9 billion to the state’s economy.

“These benefits aren’t just numbers,” said Chris Mitchell, president and chief executive officer of the Iowa Hospital Association. “They represent real programs and services that improve lives across Iowa. Many of these initiatives wouldn’t exist without the leadership and commitment of our hospitals and health systems.”
