Calhoun County loan fund supports local business growth
ROCKWELL CITY — The Calhoun County Economic Development Corp. has announced the availability of funding through its revolving loan fund program.
The program is designed to support new and expanding businesses across Calhoun County with access to low-interest financing that can help spark job creation, infrastructure improvement and long-term economic vitality.
More than $85,000 is currently available.
The revolving loan fund is intended to assist with projects that may not otherwise be feasible through traditional financing alone. Funds can also be used for property acquisition, site improvements, building renovations, new construction, machinery and equipment, working capital, inventory and other project-related expenses.
“This program is about investing in the future of Calhoun County,” said Theresa Hildreth, executive director of the Calhoun County Economic Development Corp. “We want to support local businesses that are ready to grow, create jobs and contribute to our economic foundation. Whether you’re launching a new business or expanding an existing one, this fund is designed to fill financing gaps and bring strong ideas to life.”
Key features of the revolving loan fund program include:
• Flexible funding for eligible business expenses
• Emphasis on projects that create or retain jobs in Calhoun County
• Priority given to businesses hiring local workers, especially those who are unemployed or displaced
• Collaboration with other lenders, including local banks and state funding programs
Interested businesses must complete a detailed loan application, which includes a project description, financial statements, hiring projections, and documentation of other funding sources. Collateral and matching equity are typically required. All applicants are encouraged to demonstrate community impact and explain the necessity of revolving loan fund support for their project.
“This is a powerful tool to foster rural entrepreneurship,” Hildreth said. “Our board is committed to helping good projects move forward and strengthening the business landscape throughout the county.”
