Teague finds his calling
Webster City-based DCD Garage Floors offers high-end product
WEBSTER CITY — Joe Teague saw a chance to make a life-changing decision and jumped at it.
Teague, a graduate of Prairie Valley High School who grew up just outside of Fort Dodge, is the owner of DCD Garage Floors.
Located in Webster City, Teague and DCD have branched out around Iowa and are currently looking to further expand.
“We have the best employees in the field,” Teague said. “We also have had a great network of advisors and business-minded people in our circle.
“There are too many to name and I don’t want to leave anyone out, but they all know who they are.”
Teague worked at Greenfield Transport and Smithway Motor Xpress, and also had a small trucking business before kick-starting DCD.
“The trucking business got tough when fuel got high,” Teague said. “We had friends in the epoxy business, so we left trucking and invested in the epoxy flooring business.”
Along with his devoted team of individuals, Teague says “The key to our success is we take care of our customers. Word spreads fast.”
DCD installs resinous floors and epoxy coatings in both residential and commercial buildings including restaurants, farm shops, basement floors, garage floors and factories.
“We use an innovative approach and the best equipment in the industry,” Teague said. “We use diamond blades to prep the concrete with the best vacuum available for cleanup and dust control.
“Epoxy basement floors are a great system for new or old floors as they are seamless, durable and both easy to clean and maintain. They are also a great option with in-floor heat. We can also offer one-day installation of garage floor systems.”
Teague and his team have also added the use of metallic stains and flake designs to flooring.
“It allows us to give the look of marble, but with a very durable, easily maintainable surface,” he said. “The 100 percent epoxy flake floors are not only beautiful but are also very durable and slip-resistant.”
DCD is not just limited to indoor flooring, as it also installs rubber designs that can be used for pool decks, front steps or livestock applications.
“This is a soft, yet durable, slip-resistant flooring system and is great for outdoor application,” Teague said. “Our outdoor flooring systems give a durable salt resistant, weather-resistant surface to make your property and patio beautiful.”
