Dennis Plautz, left, chief executive officer of Greater Fort Dodge Growth Alliance, accepts at $5,000 check from Cory Bargfrede, advertising director of The Messenger. They are joined by Jill Nelson, center, community development director for the Growth Alliance, and Lydia Schuur, right, the alliance’s communications specialist.

The Messenger has donated $5,000 to the Greater Fort Dodge Growth Alliance.

The money came from proceeds of the All About Greater Fort Dodge publication sales. All About Greater Fort Dodge features information on businesses, industry, housing, schools, health care and other elements of the community. It is produced via a partnership between The Messenger and the Growth Alliance.

”The Messenger appreciates the opportunity to partner with the great people at the Growth Alliance on this annual publication,” said Terry Christensen, publisher of The Messenger. ”This partnership is especially important as we all work together to promote the positives that are taking place in the region.”

Dennis Plautz, the chief executive officer of the Growth Alliance, said he also appreciates the teamwork between his organization and the newspaper.

”It’s another example of the great relationship we have with the Fort Dodge Messenger,” he said of the publication.

”The Growth Alliance board of directors and staff really appreciates working with The Messenger on a wide variety of things during the course of a year,” he said.

According to Plautz, All About Greater Fort Dodge has wide reach. He said he recently gave a dozen copies of it to someone planning a large family reunion in Fort Dodge.

”We use them a lot,” he said of the publications.
