Pride in Community Appearance members Pat Cox, left, and Willard Whitcome helped clear brush from the edge of Fort Dodge Memorial Park Cemetery along South 32nd Street. Through a group effort, PICA, Webster County Conservation, the city of Fort Dodge and Central Garage worked to remove shrubs from the cemetery that lined Fifth Avenue South and South 32nd Street. The project had been on PICA’s list of things to do around the community for years, according to members. After speaking with the cemetery caretakers and Webster County Conservation, the project was underway. The conservation employees brought out the Timber Ax to mow down the rows of shrubs while volunteers loaded branches into city trucks, which were taken to the recycling center.
