Doc, a 19-year-old gelding owned by John and Darlene Winninger, top, shows off his teeth for a group of third-grade students at Cooper Elementary School. Doc was visiting the students who had been reading books and studying horses during recent class time. John Winninger also showed the students how to trim Doc’s hooves and put on his bridle and saddle. Winninger then rode Doc across the school’s lawn, then let the students pet him.
