School crossing guard Mary Casey helps keep traffic at bay while Duncombe Elementary fourth-grader Tyreike Mericle takes a second to clown around for the camera on his way home from school. Casey was a fixture for the students at the intersection of North 15th Street and Seventh Avenue North.
